Grindr x Madonna Times Sq Pop-up

Goal 1

Create three engaging video clips with drag queens Jade Essence Hall and Nicki Doll for Freddie, surrounding Madonna fans as her surprise mounted in Times Square — shot inside a single 15-minute window ahead of the surprise while simultaneously grabbing a bulk of content with Grindr/Freddie signage in frame.

Approach

  • Aligned with the queens ahead of time on posting obligations and requirements for each video.
  • Prepped lyrics, songs, and quotes in advance so bits could land smoothly inside the 15-minute surprise window.
  • Assisted the videographer directly to keep every bit moving inside the tight window.

Goal 2

Verify every shot on the list was captured around the Grindr bus activation while filming was still running.

Approach

  • Built a shot list for photographers and videographers, mapping sequence and priority for every clip.
  • Isolated the filming sequence for the full 15 minutes by Grindr's bus.
  • Handed off notes to the videographer for edits, and managed waivers and signed consent forms for everyone appearing on-screen.
