2025 Video Music Awards

Client: Pop Base  ·  Role: Director of Media & Content Strategy
Credits: Producer, Interview, Editor, On-Site Capture, Content Rollout Plan

Project Overview

Led Pop Base's first-ever red carpet production, developing interview strategy, real-time content capture, and publishing workflows across arrivals, performances, and award wins. Coverage extended from the red carpet through the live broadcast, balancing artist interviews with real-time reporting across Instagram, TikTok, and X.

Goal

Produce real-time coverage of the MTV Video Music Awards while balancing red carpet interviews, live content capture, and publishing across multiple platforms as the show unfolded.

Approach

  • Developed interview frameworks ahead of the carpet, identifying priority talent based on editorial value, anticipated engagement, and availability.
  • Coordinated with a videographer in a fast-paced red carpet environment, rapidly delivering footage while conducting interviews and managing on-site production.
  • Captured key acceptance speeches, performances, and viral moments while self-publishing to Instagram and TikTok and coordinating six Twitter admins in real time to keep coverage ahead of the broadcast.
  • Verified quotes, artist references, and visual details before publication, ensuring every post met Pop Base's editorial standards despite the pace of live coverage.

Results

250M+ views across platforms during Pop Base's first-ever red carpet production.

Established a repeatable production workflow for future awards show coverage across red carpets, performances, and real-time social publishing.
